Anupam Kher Reveals Why People Are Watching Dhurandhar 2

Recently, Anupam Kher reiterated his support for the film, telling ANI at the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026 that critics labelling cinema as propaganda should be ignored. He emphasised, “We should ignore those who call cinema propaganda films. We are wasting energy on irrelevant people. Let’s celebrate the success of The Kashmir Files and Dhurandhar. Audiences are intelligent—they go to shows because they want to see the film. Those calling it propaganda are just wasting their time.”

He further added, “Cinema can indeed influence people—it depends on the individual in the dark auditorium. But it’s also a business. Many channels operate commercially; they’re not just telling stories. When I watch a film, I may take something meaningful away from it.”
