It seems like there no break for ‘The Rebel Kid’ Apoorva Mukhija. After making the headlines and public scrutiny owing to the India’s Got Latent Row, the YouTube personality made her Bollywood debut in Nadaaniyan and then went on to win hearts with The Traitors. She has now once more found herself in trouble. After making the news for her broken friendship with Sufi Motiwala, the social media star is now making the headlines as her ex-boyfriend, Utsav Dahiya, has released a song accusing her of cheating on him and lying about him on social media.
Utsav Dahiya Calls Out Apoorva Mukhija For Cheating On Him, Lying In New Song
On Sunday, Utsav Dahiya shared a video of a new song he composed – Cute Little Red Flag, a phrase Apoorva Mukhija often uses in her storytime videos. Alongside the ‘revenge’ song, Utsav also posted a long note criticising The Rebel Kid for lying and portraying him in a negative light after their breakup. In the song, Utsav warns Apoorva to stop spreading lies about him and claims he ‘dodged a bullet’ by breaking up with her. In the self-composed track, he alleges that he caught Apoorva cheating. Watch the track here:
He began the post by simply writing, “Ab agar koi aur bakwaas kari toh main seedha receipts nikalunga. (Now, if you talk nonsense again, I’ll bring out the receipts).“ His captioned further read, “Never try to gain sympathy by fabricating lies or pushing false narratives just to make content and assassinate someone’s character online. Having a big following doesn’t give you the right to bully your way by rage-baiting your audience and unleashing them on others.”
Utsav: Grow Up, Kid
Highlighting the response he received from Apoorva Mukhija and her team post the slander, Utsav Dahiya continued, “When I was being falsely painted as a cheat and an abuser because of things you said, I reached out to you and your agency hoping to find a way to deal with the hate. Instead, I was told “you’re a nobody, you should be happy you got to date her”. So here’s a message from that ‘nobody’: you tried your level best (and I won’t lie, it wasn’t easy), but I’m still here, still standing. That should tell you something: your big numbers only matter on an app. There’s a real and much bigger world outside – beyond lies and kalesh.”
Utsav further added, “Truth doesn’t need ‘followers’, it stands on its own. Toh tum chalao apna ghar kalesh se, but kisi ke baare mein jhoot bolna band karo. Baki logo ko life mein dhanke kaam karne do. (So go ahead and get rich by peddling conflict)” He signed off by simply stating, “Grow up, kid. (and here’s a rhyme for you that might be more up your speed …. in case it helps)”
Netizens React
Reacting to the song, a Reddit user wrote, “Perfectly classy revenge, gg Utsav.” Another added, “Utsav toh Taylor Swift nikla” A third commented, “Turning trauma and breakup into gossip-worthy music is so Taylor Swiftie.” Another comment read, “Man killed it. don’t know much about this controversy but seems like bruhh has gone through a lot because of her and didn’t hesitate to take a stand.”
