The original cast, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu, will return as Guddu Pandit, Kaleen Bhaiya, and Munna Tripathi. Shweta Tripathi will also reprise her role as Golu, a fan-favourite character. But that’s not all. Actors Jitendra and Ravi Kishan are also joining the cast, which has added even more buzz. While their roles haven’t been revealed, both were seen at the film’s mahurat puja, confirming their involvement.

The announcement about the theatrical version was made in a video by Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu. Fans were quick to react with excitement across social media.

In a past interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ali Fazal hinted that the movie would explore a different timeline. He said, “We are very excited. It is the OG cast, and we are going back in time, I suppose… because there are some dead people walking.” When asked if this meant a prequel, Ali simply said, “You will find out.”

Pre-production work is already underway. Script readings, look tests, and character prep have started. Jitendra and Ravi Kishan are also part of these early stages.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, the Mirzapur movie is expected to begin filming next month. The film is set to hit theatres in 2026. Fans can look forward to a fresh chapter in the gritty world of Mirzapur, with a mix of old and new.
