Anil Kapoor Shares Why He Turned Down Dhurandhar 2
Ahead of Durandhar 2’s release, veteran actor Anil Kapoor revealed he was approached for a cameo in Dhurandhar 2. In an interview with India Today, Anil Kapoor revealed that director Aditya Dhar had approached him for a brief cameo in Dhurandhar 2. However, Kapoor explained that he had to decline the offer to honour a prior commitment to another filmmaker.
Expressing his regret, he said, “Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2 and wanted me for a small cameo. But my professionalism and commitment are what define me—talent alone isn’t enough.” He continued, “At that time, I had already blocked those dates for another project, so I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this, but I’m already committed.’ He’s releasing the film now, and it’s fantastic. It’s my loss, but that’s okay.”
Kapoor stressed the importance of maintaining professional commitments in the industry. Additionally, he expressed hope to work with Dhar in the future. The Dil Dhadakne Do actor added, “I know the situation can go both ways—another filmmaker might offer me a role while I’m already committed elsewhere. Cancelling would be unprofessional. So yes, he offered me the role, and hopefully we’ll collaborate down the line.”
