Bollywood singer Arijit Singh has opted to cancel his upcoming concert, originally scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, in Chennai. It comes in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This decision was made in collaboration with the event organisers as a collective commitment to honour the victims and stand in solidarity during this difficult time.

Arijit Singh CANCELS Chennai Concert In Response To Pahalgam Terror Attack

The attack that took place on April 22, 2025, in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam. It resulted in the tragic loss of at least 28 lives and left over 20 others injured. The victims were primarily tourists, and the assault was claimed by the Resistance Front, a militant group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Arijit wrote, “IMPORTANT UPDATE. In light of the recent and tragic events, the organisers, along with the artist, have collectively made the decision to cancel the upcoming show scheduled to happen in Chennai this Sunday, April 27th. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, and the amount will be automatically refunded back to your original mode of payment. For any queries, write to events@district.in. What Happened In Pahalgam, J&K?

Eyewitnesses in Pahalgam reported that two to three men, dressed in military fatigues, opened fire indiscriminately at tourists. They were enjoying the Baisaran Meadows on horseback. The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. Security forces were quickly deployed to the area, launching a large-scale anti-terror operation to track down the assailants. Graphic videos from the scene showed people lying motionless and bloodied on the ground circulated on social media. Siddharth Malhotra, Sonu Sood, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Allu Arjun and expressed their shock and anger.
