‘Article 15’ director Anubhav Sinha declares, “I hereby resign from Bollywood”

‘Thappad’ director Anubhav Sinha took the Twitterati by surprise when he declared that he is ‘resigning’ from Bollywood. Yes, the filmmaker took to his Twitter handle and said that he has had enough.

But before you guys jump the gun, read on to know what he actually meant by saying he is quitting ‘Bollywood’.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Anubhav wrote, “ENOUGH!!! I hereby resign from Bollywood. Whatever the fuck that means.”

He has even changed his Twitter profile name from Anubhav Sinha to Anubhav Sinha (Not Bollywood). Following his tweet, filmmaker Sudhir Mishra tweeted, “What’s Bollywood?I came 2be partof Cinema inspired by Satyajit Ray ,Raj Kapoor,Guru Dutt,Ritwick Ghatak,Bimal Roy,Mrinal Sen , Hrishikesh Mukherjee,KAsif,Vijay Anand ,Javed Akhtar,Tapan Sinha, Gulzar ,Shekhar Kapur,Ketan Mehta , Bharatan n Aravindan etc.Thatswhere I’ll always be.”

Retweeting Sudhir’s tweet, Anubhav wrote, “Two people are out of Bollywood. We will make films for the Hindi film industry.”

Sudhir also said let’s leave Bollywood and go towards Indian cinema.

Commenting on that Hansal Mehta said, “Chod diya …It never existed in the first place.”

Anubhav then shared with his followers that henceforth when they talk about Bollywood the shouldn’t count him, Mehta and Mishra as a part of it.

Post Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death, the debate around nepotism has gained momentum. So much so that some celebs are trying to derail the entire issue by making it about themselves. In the last few days, there has been so much debate and outrage on social media that one really wonders what ‘Bollywood’ really is?
