Veteran singer Asha Bhosle was honoured with the Maharashtra Bhushan Award on Thursday. The singer celebrated her feat with her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle and expressed gratitude to the Maharashtra Government for conferring with the award. She took to her social media handles to post a picture of her with folded hands and wrote, “My heart felt gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for conferring upon me the highest level of honour the state can award to an individual – the Maharashtra Bhushan Award. Eternally grateful ??Jai hind. Jai Maharashtra(sic)”.

The 87-year-old singer also tweeted, “Just got the news of being bestowed the Maharashtra State highest honour to a civilian – Maharashtra Bhushan Puraskar. And no better people to enjoy it with than with your own. @ZanaiBhosleThank you all for your love and blessings. Jai Maharashtra.Jai Hind.”

In the video shared by Asha Bhosle, we see plates of sweets and a cake and Zanai is asking her grandmother how she is feeling on receiving the award. Asha ji said that she is feeling extremely happy and is thankful to the Maharashtra government. The committee of this state’s award chaired by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray decided to nominate the singer for it for the year 2020.
