Awarapan 2 Trailer Twitter Reactions: Emraan Hashmi’s Return As Shivam Pandit Gets Mixed Reactions; Netizens Tweet, “D Grade Level Of Nostalgia Milking”

After attempting to create hype by releasing songs like Yeh Awarapan, Ve Junoon and Tera Mera Rishta Continues, the makers of Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 finally unveiled the film’s trailer yesterday. Thee trailer sees Emraan return as Shivam Pandit; and this time, he’s more lethal, ruthless, and wounded. This time, he seems to have found solace in Disha Patani, but again, his love is also surrounded by new challenges and dangers.

The trailer – while giving us a glimpse of Shivam’s pain, also echoes with Mithoon’s Tera Mera Rishta, sung by Saaj Bhatt and Subodhh Sharma. But are fans loving it? Check out their reactions below.

Reviewing the trailer on X, one user wrote, “It’s a sure shot disaster – Romantic movie ka bol ke action ka churan chata diya taki #Batwara1947 se compare ho sake – Nibbo ki movie ko Mass movie bna diya – Successfully ruined a good song – Used same old template, just changed sriya sharan with disha patani. – D grade level of nostalgia milking, that backfired and downgrade it’s potential.”

Another commented, “Awarapan2 Feels Quite Repetitive. Over The Past Few Years,We’ve Seen Plenty Of Intense Love-Action Bloodbath Films Which Could Work Against It. The Best Part Is That It Doesn’t Reveal Much So Hopefully It Has Some Extraordinary Material Hidden.” A third shared, “The trailer leaves more to be desired. About The Film

Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films present Awarapan 2. The upcoming action drama is produced by Vishesh Bhatt, directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui. While Emraan Hashmi reprises his role as Shivam Pandit, Disha Patani steps into this world as Zara. The action thriller also stars Puran Gabbi as Zorawar, Anirudh Rawal as Sikandar, Surendar Vicky as Jaideep, Vijayant Kohli as Mehmood and Atul Kumar as Samarth.

The musical of Awarapan 2 is composed by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Malik, Ankit Sachdev and Wasif Ahmad, with lyrics by Sayeed Qadri, Rashmi Virag, Akhil Sachdeva and Sachin Singh Chandel. Awarapan 2 releases in cinemas worldwide on August 14, 2026.
