BAFTA 2021: Priyanka Chopra reacts as The White Tiger bags two nominations; says, ‘What a proud moment for Indian talent’

The White Tiger starring Priyanka Chora, Adarsh Gourav and Rajkummar Rao has bagged two nominations at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 2021. While Adarsh has been nominated in the leading actor category, the film’s writer-director Ramin Bahrani also earned a BAFTA nomination in the Adapted Screenplay category for The White Tiger.

Priyanka, who also served as one of the Executive Producers of the film, took to her social media handle to share her happiness and congratulate her team.

Congratulating both Ramin and Adarsh, PeeCee took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “What a proud moment for Indian talent with 2 BAFTA nominations for an ALL INDIAN STAR CAST!! Ecstatic for you @_GouravAdarsh, you are so deserving of this recognition, and congratulations #RaminBahrani, so well deserved (sic).”

The White Tiger has been adapted from Arvind Adiga’s novel of the same name. The film released on Netflix in January this year. Meanwhile, 26-year-old Adarsh is over the moon over his nomination in the leading actor category. The BAFTAs will be held on April 10 and 11 this year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, perhaps The White Tiger team brings home a BAFTA this year.
