Batti Gul Meter Chalu: After Shraddha, Yami Gautam comes on-board in the film

Makers of actor Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming project ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ made a big announcement yesterday. It was confirmed that the first leading lady (opposite Shahid) will be played by actress Shraddha Kapoor. And now, there’s another the makers have also finalised on the second leading lady for the film. And it’s none other than actress Yami Gautam who has bagged this role.

The excited ‘Kaabil’ actress took to her Twitter handle to share this good news with everyone. She has tweeted, “Super happy to commence this special journey with @kriarj on ‘ Batti Gul Meter Chalu ‘ 🙂 Really excited for this one #Prerna #Shree @shahidkapoor @ShraddhaKapoor”. Shahid who will be teaming up with Yami for the first time for a project replied to her tweet and said, “Great to have you on board.”

Yami will be seen playing the role of a lawyer alongside Shahid, who apparently dons the role of a lawyer as well for the first time in a film. Well, the casting of this trio seems to be damn interesting and we look forward to this film.

Directed by ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ fame director Shree Narayan Singh, it is planned to go on floors in the first week of February and is scheduled to release on August 31, 2018.
