After having shot in Malta and Abu Dhabi, its time for ‘Bharat’ to be shot in Bharat. Yes! Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Bharat’s shooting is nearing completion, and refugee camps from partition era are being recreated in Punjab.

‘Bharat’ is a period drama that spans across different time zones and the partition era plays an important part in the movie. The final schedule will take place post-Diwali but before that, there will be a schedule in Mumbai this weekend with Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani. The shoot of ‘Bharat’ started in July this year.

The partition era is recreated in Punjab and it will be a long outdoor shoot that will have Salman, Katrina and Jackie Shroff who is playing Salman’s on-screen father. A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror that the team will be shooting some intense scenes. “Work on the massive sets has already started,” added the source.

Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of the movie also confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, the most important schedule of ‘Bharat’ will begin next month. We will have lengthy sequences set against the backdrop of the Partition and refugee camps from those traumatic times will be recreated in Punjab. We will also be shooting in Delhi inside many historical buildings. This part of the shoot unravels between the 1960s and the ’90s period before the film moves into more contemporary times.”

Salman will be seen in over 5 different looks in the film. It also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover, and Nora Fatehi. Varun Dhawan has a special cameo role. It is slated to hit the screens on Eid next year.
