Actor Ajay Devgn is all set to return as the fearless income tax officer Amey Patnaik in Raid 2, which will hit cinemas on May 1. But even before the second part is out, the producers have confirmed that Raid 3 is already being planned.
Bhushan Kumar Gives Green Light To Raid 3
Producers Bhushan Kumar and Kumar Mangat shared their excitement about the franchise. Bhushan Kumar, head of T-Series, revealed that the idea for Raid 2 came during the making of the first film. He added that Kumar Mangat has already narrated the concept for Raid 3. Mangat confidently said to India Today, “And now when we were making this film, he already narrated the idea for Raid 3.
Mangat said, “Raid 3 to aayegi, surely aayegi (Raid will happen for sure).”
Bhushan Kumar also spoke about the journey of the Raid series. He said that when they began the first film, they had strong faith in the story and characters. “When we started making the film, there was a certain confidence in the script and the characters. We also started our relationship with Kumar Mangat ji, which has been a successful one. Raid happened, and it became a superhit. He did take time to build on the second one, but now that it’s ready, we are all geared up about how much the fans would like the film. The songs of the film have also been received well, something unheard of for thrillers,” he shared.
About Raid 2
Raid 2 is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also directed the original 2018 film, which was inspired by a real-life tax raid from the 1980s. The sequel features Riteish Deshmukh as the villain and Vaani Kapoor playing Ajay Devgn’s wife, a role previously played by Ileana D’Cruz. The cast also includes Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial.
