Akshay Kumar Rohit Shetty Golmaal 5

The popular Golmaal franchise is gearing up for its fifth instalment, and the film has now become even bigger with the addition of Akshay Kumar to the cast. Directed by Rohit Shetty and headlined by Ajay Devgn, Golmaal 5 is already among the most anticipated comedy films in the pipeline. Now, according to industry insiders, Akshay Kumar has joined the project for a special yet impactful role, adding a fresh dynamic to the beloved franchise.

Akshay Kumar Allots 18 Days For Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5

Interestingly, this marks the first time that Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar will be seen together in a full-fledged comedy setup, despite both actors being among the industry’s biggest action stars. The two have previously shared screen space in films like Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Suhaag, and Khakee, but a comic entertainer like Golmaal 5 will see them exploring a different on-screen equation.

A source reveals to Pinkvilla, “Akshay Kumar has a dynamic role in the film that will bring the house down with laughter. The Khiladi Kumar has allotted 18 days to shoot for the film, and will share a very Tom & Jerry-like equation with Ajay Devgn on screen.”

Akshay’s collaboration with Rohit Shetty is not new either. The actor previously worked with the filmmaker in the cop drama Sooryavanshi, which was part of Shetty’s expanding cop universe Singham. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn has had one of the longest and most successful creative partnerships with Rohit Shetty, having worked together on multiple films, including the Golmaal series and the Singham franchise.

According to reports, the source revealed, “Akshay instantly loved the script and his character, the moment Rohit Shetty narrated the film to him, and he was quickly on board to join the laughter-filled world of Golmaal.”

Golmaal 5 Promises Ultimate Laughter With Akshay Kumar Now On Board

Golmaal 5 will also feature the franchise’s beloved OG gang, including Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kemmu, and Tusshar Kapoor, among others. On a related note, Sharman Joshi will be returning to the franchise after nearly two decades. Priyamani reportedly joins the ensemble, adding a fresh dynamic to the cast. Comedy veterans Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, and Mukesh Tiwari also remain part of the familiar lineup.

The franchise first kicked off with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006 and quickly evolved into a dependable box-office brand. Over the years, its sequels have delivered crowd-pleasing humour, chaotic misunderstandings and Shetty’s trademark commercial scale, collectively earning strong theatrical numbers.

With Akshay Kumar now joining the cast, Golmaal 5 is expected to get an added dose of star power and comic chaos. His reported Tom & Jerry-like dynamic with Ajay Devgn could bring a fresh twist to the franchise’s signature humour, making the upcoming instalment even more exciting for fans of the long-running comedy series.
