Cannes 2025: Ishaan Khatter Helps Janhvi Kapoor With Her Gown As She Honours Sridevi In Royal Debut For Homebound Premiere – Watch

Actress Janhvi Kapoor made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 on Tuesday, and it was both elegant and heartfelt. She walked the red carpet with the team of her film Homebound co-stars Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, along with director Neeraj Ghaywan and producer Karan Johar.

As Janhvi posed for the cameras, Ishaan and Neeraj were seen helping her handle the heavy gown, making sure she looked graceful and comfortable. The sweet gesture was shown on the Cannes livestream and quickly went viral. Fans called Ishaan “kind” and “thoughtful.” Another video, taken at a hotel before the event, showed Ishaan and Neeraj holding Janhvi’s hands as she carefully walked down the stairs.

Homebound is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. It stars Janhvi, Ishaan, and Vishal in lead roles. It will be shown in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. The film is gaining international attention, especially because legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese is the executive producer.

Ishaan told PTI, “When Mr. Scorsese came on board… I don’t know whether I’m allowed to say, I’ve been sitting on this for 10 months. I can keep a secret. It’s a dream, it’s surreal. I’m very excited for Cannes. I always wanted to go with my own film. I’m happy my first time is with a movie.”

The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, along with co-producers Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier. Neeraj’s last Cannes film, Masaan, was also shown in the same section back in 2015.
