From Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit to Ananya Panday, celebs wish fans on Makar Sankranti, Lohri, Pongal

In the month of January, people celebrate harvest festival across India. The festival is known as Makar Sankranti, Lohri, Bihu and Pongal in different regions. It falls on January 14. People consume jaggery with sticky rice, coconut and sesame ladoos, rice pudding, and other delicious food items on this special day.

Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Ananya Panday and others took to their social media handles to wish their fans on the harvest festival. Have a look at some of the celeb wishes below.

Amitabh Bachchan wished Lohri to his fans by posting two pictures. He tweeted, “T 3782 – Happy Lohri .. prosperity and peace”.

Kangana Ranaut posted a few throwback pictures of her childhood days and recalled how she and the other children in their neighbourhoods sang Lohri and collected money and sweets. She wished her fans with a tweet, “In Himachal we have a tradition of singing Lohri, when I was small, children made groups and sang Lohri in neighbourhoods and collected money/sweets, children in villages and joint families have much more fun than city kids in nuclear families, anyway #HappyLohri2021”.

Madhuri Dixit shared a beautiful picture of herself dressed in a green saree with flowers in her hair and wished fans on Lohri, Sankranti and Pongal. She wrote, “लोहड़ी, पोंगल और मकर संक्रांत की ढेर सारी शुभकामनाये.”
