Central Agencies Assess Security Risk Following Amitabh Bachchan’s Meeting With Diljit Dosanjh

As reported by CNN-News18, after Amitabh Bachchan’s interaction with Diljit Dosanjh on Kaun Banega Crorepati, the actor has been the recipient of a wave of threats from Khalistani groups. The report stated that central agencies are currently assessing certain threats to Bachchan which they believed are in connection to his recent meeting with Dosanjh.

In the days since the episode released, Dosanjh reportedly received a threat from SFJ for touching Bachchan’s feet. SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun warned the singer that the group would attempt to shut down his concert scheduled to take place in Australia on November 1.

But why is the Khalistani group angry with Dosanjh’s respectful gesture for AB Sr?

Dosanjh’s touching Bachchan’s feet drew sharp criticism from the separatist organisation with them accusing him of dishonouring the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The SFJ alleged that Bachchan played a role in inciting violence during the 1984 riots following former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination. The outfit claims Bachchan allegedly used the slogan “Khoon Ka Badla Khoon (Blood for Blood)” during the riots. This statement in return reported “unleashed violence in which over 30,000 Sikh men, women, and children were killed across India.”

SFJ has also been promoting hashtags like #BoycottDiljit and #PanthicJustice on social media to coordinate bot activity and diaspora influencers to amplify emotionally charged visuals related to the 1984 riots. Sources called this as a calibrated influence operation rather than spontaneous outrage.
