Do Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar Have Massive Entourage Costs? Taapsee Pannu Breaks Silence

The debate over the rising expenses of Bollywood entourages has been ongoing for several months. Many filmmakers and producers have criticised actors for unnecessarily surrounding themselves with large entourages. Now, actress Taapsee Pannu has shared her perspective on the issue, specifically addressing stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Amitabh Bachchan. Taapsee Pannu clarified that the notion of every star having an excessive entourage costs is a misconception.

Taapsee Pannu Opens Up On Actors’ Entourage Costs

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Taapsee explained, “I came across interviews where some producers expressed concerns about the high costs associated with stars and their entourages. They mentioned that stars often have four to five people following them everywhere, which became a heated topic.”

She further stated, “But that’s not true for all stars. I’ve worked with some of the industry’s biggest names—Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Amitabh Bachchan. And during my time working with Shah Rukh sir, there weren’t as many people around him. It’s a myth that every actor has a huge entourage.”

Taapsee added, “Yes, some actors do have large entourages, but my question is: the people giving these interviews and the producers who complain about this are the same ones providing work to these stars. These actors are often labelled as delusional for demanding such things in this economy. But it’s the producers who are enabling it. Either change the system or stop complaining. From where I stand, I don’t know whether to believe what’s said in interviews or what’s actually happening behind the scenes.”

Bollywood Celebs On Entourage Costs

Earlier, industry figures like Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Shoojit Sircar, and Rajeev Masand have criticised the increasing costs of entourages. Actors such as Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, John Abraham, and Jackie Shroff have also spoken openly about the issue. They acknowledged that not all actors need such large entourages, though some do have many people around them.
