Choreographer Ganesh Acharya has landed in trouble as Mumbai Police has reportedly filed a charge sheet against him in a sexual harassment case that dates back to 2020. He has not only been charged with sexual harassment, but also of stalking and voyeurism. As per reports, the complaint against the Oo Anatava choreographer was filed in 2020 by one of his former co-workers who accused him of sexually harassing her after she turned down his advances. She had even gone public about her claims in 2020. During the #MeToo row, many known personalities were accused of sexual harrasment case and Ganesh Acharya was one the accused as well.

The matter was completed by the Oshiwara police last month and they filed the charge sheet before a metropolitan magistrate’s court in Andheri. Assistant police inspector Sandeep Shinde, told news agencies that a charge sheet was filed on March 14.

The 50-year-old choreographer has been reportedly charged under sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354C (voyeurism), 354D (stalking), 509 (insulting the modesty of any woman), 323 (causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Ganesh Acharya is yet to comment on the matter. In the past, he had denied all allegations calling them “false and baseless”.

For the unversed, the incident had happened when the woman was working as a junior dancer with him. She had accused him of making lewd comments, showing her porn movie and molesting her.
