masseuse

Film producer Prernaa Arora had found herself amidst another controversy. Prernaa’s 60-year-old masseuse, Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed, has filed a non-cognisable complaint against the film producer. Prernaa, who has produced film like ‘Rustom’, ‘PadMan’ and ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ allegedly assaulted and abused her masseuse after being questioned about her pending payment stated a report in Mumbai Mirror.

As per the report, The Meghwadi police said that her masseuse, a resident of Santacruz, had offered her services to Prernaa for the last 10 years. In her complaint, Ahmed said, “She used to call me for massages in the night. I was desperate for money, first to pay for my husband’s cancer treatment and after his death, to pay off the loans.”

She was promised a pay of Rs 75,000 a month for massages between midnight and 8 am but hasn’t been paid since the last 5 months. “I paid on my own to travel in autorickshaws from Santacruz to Madam’s house in Jogeshwari,” she said.

She added, “When I asked her about it (the payment) once, she tried to reassure me, saying she wasn’t going anywhere. Later, she issued a cheque for Rs 1.25 lakh (Arora owed her Rs 3.75 lakh), which bounced owing to insufficient funds.” When the masseuse went to ask Prerna about the same, the producer allegedly started arguing with her, beat her up and shut the door on her face. Ahmed then approached the Meghwadi police next say, where only a non-cognisable complaint was registered under sections 504 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke breach of peace) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC. A police official said Arora will be called for questioning soon, the report said. However, Prerna claimed that Ahmed had recently tried to steal around Rs 56,000 from her house but was caught by her bodyguards in. After that, she was not even allowed to enter the housing society. Regarding the pending payment, Prernaa said, “It’s a very small amount and if Khairun Ahmed has any bills and invoices, she will be paid immediately.”
