COVID positive Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital after she was tested positive for COVID-19 on January 11. Her niece told the news agency that she is doing fine and has been kept in the Breach Candy’s ICU due to precautionary reasons considering her age. Earlier, her niece had informed that she is stable while this time, it is her sister Asha Bhonsle who informed that Lata Mangeshkar health is improving and better than before. She even mentioned that no one is allowed to meet her due to COVID restrictions and protocols.

The veteran singer Asha told TOI, “They aren’t allowing anybody. I went once but wasn’t allowed inside the compound itself. There are severe restrictions and protocols being followed in view of the ongoing pandemic.” Asha Bhosle added, “Besides, I too am not very well- a bit of cough and cold. I haven’t contracted COVID; just a bit under the weather.”

Sharing an update on Lata Mangeshkar health, Asha Bhosale said, “But Didi is improving; she is better than before.”

Earlier, Lata’s younger sister, Usha Mangeshkar also revealed that she is unable to meet her sister as it is a Coronavirus case. Talking to the same portal, Usha said: “We cannot go to see Didi as it is a COVID case. There are sufficient doctors and nurses there, though.” Further, she said that Lata will not be discharged very soon. “The doctors have said that they would keep her for an extra day or two because of her age,” said Usha.
