Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions have collaborated on their upcoming project Darlings. Yesterday, Ali launched her production house and she is now all set to produce her first movie with her Dear Zindagi co-star, SRK. Also, Alia will be seen in the movie along with Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. The movie is directed by Jasmeet K Reen and produced by Gauri Khan, Ali Bhatt and Gaurav Verma. Today, taking to their respective social media handles, both Shah Rukh and Alia shared the great news with their fans.

An announcement video of Darlings was released by Red Chillies Entertainment. Sharing it, SRK captioned the video, “Life is tough Darlings, but so are you….both! Unleashing our #Darlings onto the world….Caution is advisable. PS : yeh comedy thodi dark hai…”

It starts with a statutory warning that read: “AURATON KA APMAAN AAPKI SEHAT KE LIYE BAHUT HAANIKAARAK HO SAKTA HAI.”

Alia tweeted, “This one’s special! Announcing #Darlings, my first ever production under @EternalSunProd, in association with my fav @iamsrk’s @RedChilliesEnt!Starring the amazing @ShefaliShah_, @MrVijayVarma, @roshanmathew22 Directed by @djasmeet& produced by @gaurikhan, @_GauravVerma”.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Darlings is said to be a quirky story about a mother-daughter duo, played by Alia and Shefali. The portal quoted a source saying, “It’s set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a middle-class family and traces the lives of two women, as they find courage and love in exceptional circumstances”.

The report also states that Darlings will go on the floors in 2021 and it may release this year itself as the pre-production work is going on in full swing.

Talking about Alia, she will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor.
