Darsheel Safary REVEALS Feeling ‘Left Out’ Of Sitaare Zameen Par; Says, “Having Possessiveness Is A Natural…”

Actor Darsheel Safary has touched every hearts as Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zameen Par. He has finally spoken about not being part of Aamir Khan’s new film Sitaare Zameen Par. When asked if he felt hurt about not being approached for the sequel, Darsheel gave a mature and honest reply. 

Darsheel Safary On NOT Being A Part Of Sitaare Zameen Par 

Darsheel said that while he did feel a little disappointed, he understood that the new film is not just about his character. He talked about not being a part of the project to News18 and said, “Having possessiveness is a natural emotion, so there might have been days where I thought ‘it’d have been cool if I was a part of Sitaare Zameen Par’. But then, if you look at the bigger picture, you are delivering the best product in the most natural, organic way. If it doesn’t fit, it just doesn’t.”

He also stated that actors are just mediums in the story and they play their parts, even though he missed being a part of Sitaare, he added, “I have always known that this film, Taare Zameen Par, is not about me… Main bas ek zariya tha. All our characters in Taare Zameen Par were mediums. It was never mine.”

Darsheel added that he respects Aamir Khan’s creative decisions and is happy that the film is continuing the message of the original in a new way. He also said he’s grateful for the love he still receives for Taare Zameen Par, and that will always be special to him.

“That’s what Aamir sir must have thought while making the film because their decision matters and the audience should have fun. I am all okay with me not being a part of Sitaare Zameen Par. I just feel lucky to be a part of that legacy,” he concluded.
