Deepika Padukone on Irrfan Khan’s health: I can’t say it was expected, but neither was it a shock
Post their stint in ‘Piku’, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan were all set to the work together in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Sapna Didi’, however owing to the Khan’s ailing health, the project was put on a back burner. While Irrfan is still undergoing his treatment for cancer overseas, the leading lady of his film gave the latest update of the actor.
During an interaction with The New Indian Express, Deepika said, “Forget the actor part, for me, Irrfan is someone I’m extremely fond of as a person. I can’t say it was expected, but neither was it a shock. I myself have been through certain experiences in the past, and it has taught me that life is fragile. Anything can happen to anyone. Nothing shocks or alarms me anymore, but I do wish him good health and a speedy recovery.”
God speaks to each of us as he makes us, then walks with us silently out of the night. These are the words we dimly hear: You, sent out beyond your recall, go to the limits of your longing. Embody me. Flare up like a flame and make big shadows I can move in. Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final. Don’t let yourself lose me. Nearby is the country they call life. You will know it by its seriousness. Give me your hand #rainermariarilke
Earlier in an interview with News 18, the actress had commented on Irrfan’s health saying, “He is someone I love, he is someone I am extremely fond of and to be honest I think it has also been very hard not reaching out because they have asked for their space. But I guess, you know sitting where I am all I can say is a little prayer every night and hope that you know that all goes well. But at the same time like I said you know three years ago I realised life is extremely fragile, so my whole perspective to life changed after my experience with depression.”
Just like Deepika, we too wish Irrfan, a speedy recovery!
