Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh Wedding Day 1: Live Updates

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding day has finally arrived. The two-day long festivities will begin from today and it’s expected to be a grand affair. The wedding has been nothing short of a fairy tale as it is taking place at Italy’s picturesque CastaDiva Resort and Spa in Lake Como.

On November 13 (Tuesday), Deepika and Ranveer had their Sangeet ceremony and in true Bollywood style, the groom (Ranveer) got down on his knees for Deepika and delivered an emotional speech. The lovebirds  got engaged in a Konkani traditional Phool Muddi ceremony yesterday.

Today, the couple will get married in Konkani-South Indian style. Tomorrow (November 15), DeepVeer will be getting married according to Sindhi customs and rituals.

21:10: So, that’s a wrap on first day wedding festivities of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. This day will forever be etched in the memories of the couple. But, the fun continues on second day as well! The second day will see DeepVeer having their wedding in Sindhi style. Stay tuned for further updates.

21:00: A fan club of the actor shared a video on Instagram in which Ranveer Singh was spotted in a hydroplane. The wedding had its fair share of moments and now the second day i.e. tomorrow will be occupied with Sindhi wedding.

20:15: The theme for the ‘Konkani’ wedding was white and golden. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh earlier blessed their union at Italy’s beautiful and regal Lake Como. As per reports, Deepika’s wedding outfits are designed by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

20:05: Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding also had grand fireworks show. In a video, which has surfaced online, we can see a series of fireworks at display above the Villa in which the two got hitched. The video proves how happy the couple and their close ones are on the union.

19:55: Wikipedia wasted no time and updated Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s bio. In the spouse category of Wikipedia, respective spouse’s names of the actors were added. The duo have worked in films like ‘Ram Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’.

19:45: Yes! The first pic of newlywed couple i.e Deepika and Ranveer is out.  India Today has been exclusively covering this intimate wedding ceremony of DeepVeer and a screen grab of their video shared by a fan club on the photo-sharing site Instagram has set the internet on fire.

18:30:  The Indian dairy company ‘Amul’ wished the newlywed couple Deepika and Ranveer with an innovative creative.

The company took to their Twitter handle to post a picture of the creative where the Amul girl is seen in Deepika’s character. The advertisement reads: “Ranveer not Singhle anymore! The Deepik-tion of taste!” It was posted with a caption attached to it that reads, “#Amul Topical: Bollywood superstars tie the knot!”

17:40: Now, that DeepVeer are officially married, Mr and Mrs Ranveer Singh will throw a lavish party for their guests. PinkVilla report suggests that Deepika and Ranveer will be hosting a lavish party today at Lake Como for their guests. As per Italy time, the party will go on till 4 pm.

16:30: JUST IN: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are now officially married. The couple tied the knot in South Indian ‘Konkani’ style.

‘Airlift’ actress Nimrat Kaur also wished the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ on Twitter. She wrote, “Huge congratulations @deepikapadukone and @RanveerOfficial !! Here’s to the blissful ever after of every step you walk together…”

16:00: As per the exclusive information obtained by Bollywood Bubble, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding pictures will be auctioned for charity. Ranveer Deepika pictures from the wedding will be auctioned.

The proceeds will be given to her charity foundation on mental health ‘Live Love Laugh’. So whichever magazine bids the highest for the pictures will get them.

15:40: The pics from Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding venue decorations are out. The pics are spectacular and marvelous. As per a report in India Today, around 12 florists from Florence are hired to decorate the wedding venue with water lilies that are Deepika’s favourite.

15:15:  Breaking News: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are currently getting married in South Indian ‘Konkani’ style.

14:30: Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is not quite happy with not being invited to Ranveer and Deepika’s wedding. Anil Kapoor is currently enjoying his vacations in London alongside his family. Ranveer Singh’s paternal grandfather and Sonam Kapoor‘s maternal grandfather are siblings.

As per the report in PinkVilla, “Anil Kapoor is upset with the fact that even after being a family member, he wasn’t called for the wedding.”. Apparently, Ranveer Singh is very close to Anil Kapoor and shares a very close bond.

13:30: As per the report in news agency ANI, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan will be in attendance for the wedding in Italy. These three hold a special place in Deepika and Ranveer’s hearts. As Deepika had made her debut in Farah Khan directorial ‘Om Shanti Om’ alongside SRK in 2007.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has done three films with the couple. Incidentally, on the sets of ‘Ram Leela’, DeepVeer fell in love. The movie was released in 2013. SLB’s other two films ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’ also had Deepika and Ranveer.

11:30: In a bid to surprise the couple, a special guitar tribute was arranged for Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. This sweet gesture was done by the family members from both sides. All the songs of Deepika and Ranveer were played on guitar.

The melody was so soothing and mesmerising that it compelled the lovebirds to come and shake a leg together. When a song from ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Aayat’ was played, both Deepika and Ranveer couldn’t stop themselves from singing and hooting.

Ranveer Singh’s hairstylist Nitasha Gaurav got emotional and shared on Twitter, “No pictures but it was love personified to see them together today. Couldn’t stop my tears, but these were tears of happiness and so I hope they never do. #DeepVeerKiShaadi #ranveerkishaadi #foreverlove. (Sic)”

9:30: Deepika Padukone’s sister Anisha Padukone made a special gesture for the wedding. Anisha changed her name to #Ladkiwale on micro blogging site Twitter.  Anisha is extremely close to Deepika and this gesture shows how excited and happy she is about her sister’s wedding. We wonder, if Ranveer’s relatives will call themselves #Ladkewale.

8:30: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Sangeet ceremony lived up to its billing. The couple took extra care of their guests by writing hand written notes to welcome them. DeepVeer are making sure that their guests feel welcome to bless their union.

8:00: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Mehendi ceremony begun in style. The couple got engaged in a Phool Muddi ceremony, which is a traditional Konkani engagement custom. The goom i.e. Ranveer did 5 things to make this event spectacular.

1. Ranveer Singh got down on one knee and proposed to Deepika in true Bollywood style.
2. The groom applied Mehendi on his hand and wrote #DeepVeer.
3. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor was seen playing dhol and it comes as no surprise as he is always energetic.
4. Ranveer Singh danced to popular numbers from his films. Like ‘Gunday’s song ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’.
5. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s ceremony also had a strict policy of not allowing mobile phones. Ranveer made sure that privacy was maintained at the event.
