Dharma Productions is set to make an announcement about Kesari Chapter 2 starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday tomorrow. Fans have been eagerly anticipating updates after months of speculation. Originally scheduled for a March 14 release, the film will now release on 18th April 2025. The studio shared a reel Kesari clocks six years since its release in Hindi cinema on Friday and announced that a new chapter is all set to begin soon.
The post shared read, “6 years ago… A story of courage shook the nation.” It went on to say: “21 Sikhs against thousands of Afghans. Outnumbered. Surrounded. But never defeated. They fought like lions, they became legends.” Continuing it mentions, “History wrote one chapter… Now, we tell the next. The saffron rises again. New battle, same fire. Tomorrow.” The caption read, “Celebrating 6 years of Kesari. Celebrating the spirit of Kesari. Celebrating a new chapter that begins…soon!”
Kesari was released in 2019, is a war film starring Akshay Kumar and directed by Anurag Singh. It follows the events leading to the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897.

Interestingly, the film was initially titled Shankara, but the makers have now rebranded it as Kesari Chapter 2. Despite the name, the film’s storyline is entirely different from Kesari’s.
