Dhurandhar OTT

Ranveer Singh’s high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar has found itself at the centre of fresh speculation ever since chatter around its OTT release suggested that the makers altered the film for streaming. However, new reports now put the rumours to rest. According to confirmed updates circulating within the industry, the team has not made any edits or cuts to the film and delivered it to Netflix exactly as per the platform’s technical and format requirements. Read on to know all the details.

Dhurandhar Cut Scenes for Netflix? Here’s What Really Happened

Soon after Dhurandhar dropped on Netflix at midnight on January 30, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed a difference in the runtime. Comparing the theatrical and streaming versions, viewers pointed out that nearly 9 minutes appear to be missing. The original theatrical release was 3 hours and 34 minutes, and the Netflix version is 3 hours and 25 minutes, sparking speculation that certain sequences had been trimmed or toned down for OTT.

The chatter intensified across social media, with many assuming the makers had edited the film post its theatrical run. However, reports clarify that the production team submitted the film in its original, uncut form, and the changes stemmed from Netflix’s platform-specific formatting and internal adjustments rather than any creative cuts made by the makers themselves.

Instead, the team reportedly focused only on standard platform specifications such as sound mixing, subtitles, and formatting. They did not rework the storyline or remove any scenes. As a result, viewers can expect the same intense, edge-of-the-seat experience that played in cinemas. The makers chose to retain the original vision, ensuring that the film’s pacing and storytelling remain intact for OTT audiences.

Moreover, insiders suggest that the production house wanted to preserve the director’s cut without compromise. Given Dhurandhar’s slick action design and layered spy drama, even minor trims could have disrupted the narrative flow. Therefore, the team avoided unnecessary changes and handed over the complete film to the streaming giant.
