Rahi Anil Barve On Shraddha Kapoor’s Exit

Actress Shraddha Kapoor is no longer part of Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming thriller as per reports. Earlier reports claimed that Shraddha had asked for a fee of Rs 17 crores and a share in the film’s profits. But producer Ekta Kapoor felt the amount was too high. The report mentioned that women-led films often face difficulties at the box office, so the producers were concerned about the budget.

However, the film’s director, Rahi Anil Barve, has indirectly denied these rumours. Speaking to Bombay Times about Shraddha’s exit, he said, “These are all rumours. Everything is a rumour.” He further did not confirm or deny her departure but added a cryptic note, and said, “Right now all I can say is that I’m finishing Rakt Brahmand. I am working on my next. That’s it.”

The makers are now searching for a new lead actress. They are said to be in talks with several top names from the industry. Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor is exploring other projects. She is reportedly in discussions with producers Dinesh Vijan, Boney Kapoor, and Bhushan Kumar. An official announcement about her next film is likely to be made in the next two months.

While neither Shraddha nor Ekta’s team has confirmed anything, director Rahi Anil Barve has resumed work on his web series Rakt Brahmand. This fantasy show stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal. The series was earlier delayed due to budget issues but will begin filming in Mumbai next month. Barve is expected to focus on Ekta Kapoor’s thriller only after finishing this project.
