Along with good scripts and actors, the audience is always excited to see a fresh pair of lead actors in films. Producer Ramesh Taurani announced a never seen before collaboration of the Punjabi superstar, who has been doing back-to-back comedy films, Diljit Dosanjh and the ‘Bala’ star Yami Gautam in an untitled romantic comedy film which was supposed to be directed by director Aziz Mirza’s son, Haroon. The script has been penned by late filmmaker Neeraj Vohra. In fact, it was also reported that Shilpa Shetty will make her comeback with this film which was supposed to go on the floors in August this year.

The fate of the film seems to be doomed now. Just as the film was gearing to roll in Delhi, the ‘Udta Punjab’ star walked out of the film because he had a fallout with the production, rumour also has it Tips head Ramesh Taurani decided to replace him considering his last film’s failure.

After Diljit’s exit from the film, Yami continued to be a part of the project, but not anymore we hear! Yes, the ‘Badlapur’ actor also quit the film and when prodded about the reason it was stated that the script was very hackneyed, which is completed opposite to what the makers promised when the announcement was made. There was a certain amount of incompetence from the production’s end as well; the actors were not given the script even days before when the shoot was about to commence. Hence both the actors decided to opt-out of the film.

Though the film has been shelved as of now, Diljit and Yami have been signed together for another film by a different production house.

Though the Punjabi stud’s last film ‘Arjun Patiala’ opposite leggy lass Kriti Sanon was not received well at the box-office or by the critics, he is all set to come back as the Batras in one of the most anticipated laugh riots ‘Good Newwz’, starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kiara Advani.

Yami had quite a successful year in terms of films that include ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, along with ‘Masaan’ star Vicky Kaushal had a great run at the box-office. Her last film ‘Bala’ along with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar has put her in the spotlight and her performance has been widely appreciated by the audience and critics collectively.
