dinesh vijan maddock films universe

Following the tremendous commercial success of ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Chhaava,’ Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is preparing for a pivotal phase in its cinematic evolution. Beyond its continuously expanding Horror-Comedy Universe, the reports suggest that the production house is now working on two daring new cinematic universes, Fantasy and Chiranjeev Universe.

Maddock Films Expands To Fantasy Universe, Chiranjeevi Universe

As reported by Peepingmoon, the first project is a Fantasy Universe inspired by ‘The Arabian Nights’. It’s a legendary collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian folklore. Maddock has been developing this ambitious universe for two years. They aim to create a trilogy of fantasy films that reimagine classic tales within an Indian cultural context. The series will kick off with Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, followed by Aladdin’s Wonderful Lamp, and Sinbad the Sailor. These ancient stories will deliver fantasy adventures on a scale rarely seen in Indian cinema.

‘The Arabian Nights’ is renowned for its mix of genres. It blends elements of fantasy — genies, magic lamps, and mythical creatures — with deep themes of love, betrayal, and revenge. Maddock’s goal is to combine compelling storytelling with state-of-the-art visual effects. Filming on the first instalment is slated to begin next year.

Chiranjeevi Universe

Simultaneously, Maddock is also working on what it calls the Chiranjeevi Universe. It’s a series of films centred around the immortal figures of Hindu mythology. Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Mahavatar’ will be the foundation of this mythological universe. There are plans to develop additional films featuring other eternal characters from Ramayana and Mahabharata in the future. Chiranjeevis are beings believed to be alive on Earth even today, until the end of the current Kali Yuga.

The Chiranjeevi Universe remains in the conceptual stage. Its future depends on the box office success of Mahavatar. It narrates the legendary story of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, a formidable warrior and one of Lord Vishnu’s ten incarnations. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is set to begin shooting later this year. The makers are planning a theatrical release for Christmas 2026.
