Divya Khosla Kumar’s ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi’ gets trolled; Netizens say, “My ears are bleeding”

We are living in the times of remixes and recreations. Every single day we come across a recreated version of an old classic or chartbuster songs. These days Bollywood filmmakers too are heavily relying on old songs to bank upon their recall value. Rarely we come across songs that are original and refreshing.

Actress-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar recently unveiled a music video ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi‘ which is an official remake of Falguni Pathak’s hit song of the same name. Falguni’s version had become a rage when it was released in the 1990s. So as soon as Divya’s futuristic take on this old chartbuster came out a certain section of the audience liked it whereas others bashed it left, right and centre.

Criticising the makers of the remix, one of the users wrote, “They just created disaster of making remake of mu all-time favorite song. They can’t even copy properly. When I heard this song my ears started bleeding(sic).”

Another wrote, “Haath jodke request karta hu. Please puraane songs ki vaat mat lagao (I beg you all don’t ruin old songs)(sic).”
