Dulquer Salmaan has made his comeback into Bollywood with R Balki’s Chup. The pyschological thriller released in theatres on September 23 and it also starred Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt Shreya Dhanwanthary. Critics and audience have praised Dulquer for his stellar performance. The actor made his Bollywood debut with Karwaan and then appeared in The Zoya Factor opposite Sonam Kapoor. His earlier stints were not successful. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, he opened up about the failure of his first Hindi film.

When asked about the kind of experience he learnt from the failure in terms of choosing the script of Chup, the Sita Ramam actor said, “The Zoya Factor wasn’t the first film that didn’t work so to speak in my career. I have been through those ups and downs just like any other actor. I don’t take full credit when a film works or take full blame when a film doesn’t work.”

He added, “I did like the fact that somebody like Balki sir A brings you a film that itself and like bit of an award like you know an win that you have been noticed by him or he is seeing you as a character. That excited me to begin with. Also, he gives a lot of freedom as an actor and you kind of explore with him to find your character. He will tell you, ‘let’s take it up a notch o bring it down or just play it like this or this is working’ which also lets you loose on the playground. The experience will really stay with me always.”
