Gaurav Arora is a name today that has created waves across the OTT platform in India. From Broken But Beautiful 2 to Asur and now Aadha Ishq, the model-turned-actor has shown his potential and gathered a loyal fanbase that just loves the work he does. But interestingly, even though he found success on the digital platform, Gaurav actually began his career as an actor on the big screen, that too with two films under a big banner in the same year, but unfortunately they didn’t work as well. And in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble recently, the actor opened up about dealing with that failure.

Gaurav Arora made his acting debut with two big banner films in 2016, Love Games and Raaz: Reboot, but unfortunately neither of them fared well, and the actor doesn’t shy away from accepting that. But he had to wait for three years for his next project after that, which was Broken But Beautiful 2. And dealing with that time with no work wouldn’t have been easy. When asked about that, Gaurav admitted, “It’s no secret that those films didn’t fare well at the box office. Obviously, it was very disheartening but I feel that the audience is never wrong. If audience doesn’t like something, they don’t like it, it’s as simple as that and somewhere we weren’t up to the mark. But after that, the period went on for years where you get into a shell and where you feel that you have not done well, there is a life at stake and a lot of things that go through your head. But now when I look back at those years, I have only sat and worked on my craft during that time. I have done workshops and just prepared myself in my own way. I think that period was the golden period, if I can say that now, because you learn from your failures. Success doesn’t really teaches you much. I haven’t really experienced it as that period went on for a long time but it has taught me a lot.”

Having worked on himself for this long, we wondered if he feels more prepared and confident to deal with what’s to come next in his career and Gaurav agreed as he said, “Absolutely, because what happened is that those years where I had nothing to do but work on myself, it gave me so much confidence that if now I see any project in the making that I’d do justice to, I just pick up my phone and do cold calls. So, that confidence comes from there.”

The confidence that Gaurav acquired is really helping him choose projects that are exploring his potential as an actor and even he is doing complete justice to them. There is a lot more exciting things in the offing for the actor but right now he is just basking in the rave reviews that he is receiving for Aadha Ishq.
