Of late, reports of ‘Kedarnath’ producer KriArj Entertainment pulling out of the film have been making it to the headlines. This piece of news made headlines because it is going to mark the big Bollywood debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan. A day after the news of the tiff broke, we can now exclusively confirm that KriArj entertainment has filed a case against director Abhishek Kapoor and his production house ‘Guy In The Sky Pictures’. The official statement of Prernaa Arora and KriArj from their legal team is as follows.

“Guy In The Sky Pictures is trying to wriggle out of a binding agreement. KriArj Entertainment and T-Series continue to own the film as it’s co-producers along with Balaji and also own it’s exclusive distribution rights. We are seeking legal recourse against Abhishek Kapoor and his production company for the various defaults committed by them of their commitments to both KriArj & T-Series .This includes attempts made by Guy in The Sky Pictures and Abhishek Kapoor to cheat KriArj Entertainment & T-Series after making them heavily invest in the Film. We no longer wish to make any further comments , the court proceedings will put all speculation to rest.”

Apart from this, a source exclusively spoke to Bollywood Bubble and revealed,

“Director Abhishek Kapoor has been unprofessional since the start. Even when the crew along with Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan were in ‘Kedarnath’ to for their first schedule, Abhishek fired the DOP and the crew citing their incompetency. Later, Kapoor also wasted Sushant’s dates that were allocated for filming ‘Kedarnath’. He even refrained Sara from signing her second film with Anushka Sharma.”

The source further added.

“Abhishek and the producers later tried to get Sushant’s dates but the latter had already allotted them for ‘Chambal’. Sushant finally managed to give few dates in April-May. Though the film still has 35-50 days of shoot still left the budget is something that has worried the producers. The filming budget minus the fee charged by the actors is Rs 35 Crores and this was the biggest issues between the director and the producers”

The story doesn’t end here, the source also said that Abhishek had started interfering in decisions like whom will the distribution rights and satellite be sold to.  Bollywood Bubble had earlier reported that the makers weren’t happy with Abhishek announcing the film release without their consent. Abhishek had tweeted “To all my friends in the media, #kedarnath is on schedule for 21st Dec 2018 #jaibholenath”, clashing with SRK’s ‘Zero’. KriArj had then decided to push the date to 2019. On the looks of it, Sara Ali Khan’s film definitely seems to be in a limbo. We only hope that the gorgeous starkid gets a great launchpad soon.
