Shah Rukh Khan has managed to win hearts with his stellar performance in his cameo appearance of Vanarastra, from the recently released movie Brahmastra. Fans of SRK couldn’t contain their excitement after they caught a glimpse of the actor on the silver screen. And with that, fans are curious where the character of Shah Rukh from Brahmastra gets a spin-off in near future.

Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji recently sat down with us for a candid conversation about the movie and its success. He was joined by actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. During the exclusive interview, Ayan Mukerji finally addressed whether the character of Vanarastra, played by Shah Rukh Khan will get a spin-off.

Ayan Mukerji confirmed it with Bollywood Bubble that Shah Rukh Khan’s character Vanarastra from Brahmastra will be made a film. He revealed he had discussed thoughts on the same with his team, during the making of Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. The director said that he has a project that he wants to do that will be called Vanarastra. Mukerji mentioned his team has ‘not developed’ the thought yet.

Ayan Mukerji opened up about reading fan theories of SRK’s character Vanarastra and others related to the movie. He said, “So I’ve read some of this stuff and I plan to read a lot more. And even before reading, let me tell you. For Vanarastra and all, when we were making that film, shooting that sequence, we ourselves, me, my assistants, we ourselves were like ‘This is such a cool tonality and we’ve got to do Vanarastra as a film.”

The Brahmastra director added, “So, this is what the Astraverse is meant to be about you know. We have a project that we want to do called Vanarastra, we have not developed it, but, this is what it’s about.” He continued, “We have lots of thoughts too.”

During the interaction, talking about a spin-off of SRK’s Vanarastra, Ranbir Kapoor suggested, “It could have been the origins. It could be a prequel to where he was a young scientist. It could be anything.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, directed by Ayan Mukerji features Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva and Alia Bhatt as Isha. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan as Guruji, Nagarjuna Akkineni as Nandiastra, and Mouni Roy as Junoon. It also shows SRK in a cameo appearance as Vanarastra. Brahmastra is a trilogy and Part two is titled Dev.
