Farah Khan’s former dance partner, Hemu Sinha is no more. The choreographer-turned-filmmaker is devastated by the sudden demise of her former dance partner and she took to social media to share the sad news with her fans and friends. Actress and host Mini Mathur also mourned the demise of Hemu as she remembered him as a true teacher.

Back in the 80s, Farah and Hemu worked together as dance partners. This was the time when Farah was still trying to find her feet in the film industry as a choreographer. Hemu was not just Farah’s dance partner but also her friend and guide.

Hemu was also Mini Mathur’s choreographer in ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja 2’. And it was Mini who revealed that Hemu died due to Covid-19. Reminiscing how Hemu taught her the basic of the dance, Mini took to her Instagram handle and wrote, “Those who know, do. Those who understand, teach. When Hemu Sinha was designated to be my choreographer for Jhalak Dikhlaja 2, he had come out of a self-imposed exile from dance after 15 years, had lost 25 kilos and was raring to go. I was skeptical because I thought I needed someone ‘sharper’ to make me look good since I was a novice at dance forms that weren’t about jumping wildly to music. Over 4 -5 months Hemu taught me the intricacies of so many dance styles: backflips, tango, turns, rolls, salsa, cha cha cha and naga.”

She further added, “His knowledge and experience was so deep that he knew exactly at which angle a hold could go wrong. I was impatient, competitive and liked short cuts. He was patient, confident & told me to enjoy learning the form without worrying about scores and votes. A true teacher. And the only one who I could match a step within heels. Today he passed away due to covid. RIP Hemu .. make the angels dance with you. #RIP #HemuSinha #choreographer #danceteacher(sic).”
