EXCLUSIVE: Vijay Deverakonda & Ananya Panday starrer’s TITLE changed, thanks to Deepika Padukone & Hrithik Roshan; here’s why

On Hrithik Roshan‘s birthday (January 10), the handsome hunk had announced his upcoming film Fighter. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter will star Hrithik opposite the leggy beauty Deepika Padukone. Interestingly, Fighter was also the tentative title of Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday‘s upcoming film with Puri Jagannadh.

However, now that the Hrithik and Deepika’s starrer Fighter is already announced, looks like the makers of Puri Jagannadh directorial had to change their film’s title. Read on to know the details.

With Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming pan India project, Ananya will be making her debut down South Cinema whereas Vijay will be marking his  Bollywood debut. Their film which was tentatively titled Fighter will be released in Hindi and Telugu.

Earlier today, Puri Connects and Dharma Productions announced that they will be unveiling the title and first look of their upcoming collaboration tomorrow (January 18). They issued a statement that reads, “In the past years, we have presented stories that brought a never-seen-before cinematic spectacle to screens, appealing across regions to enthral one and all. Tomorrow we are adding another chapter in that journey, obliterating linguistic barriers to bring a new age of cinema.”

They captioned the announcement as, “Bringing together cinema beyond languages to entertain all! #StayTuned, something BIG dropping tomorrow @ 10.08 am! #Announcement(sic)”

As soon as this announcement was made, Vijay’s name started trending on social media thanks to his super excited fans. Though Fighter was the tentative title of Vijay and Ananya starrer, looks like Siddharth Anand choosing to name his film as Fighter forced the makers of latter’s film to change their title. Interestingly, Fighter was also the title which Siddharth had initially locked for War.

Now that the new title and first look of Vijay and Ananya’s film will be finally revealed tomorrow, their fans just can’t keep calm.
