Medha Shankr Opens Up About Her Comic Influences

Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is an upcoming comedy entertainer that promises to bring families together with its dose of laughter and fun. The film marks a refreshing shift for Medha Shankr and Avinash Tiwary, who step into light-hearted comic roles unlike their usual intense performances. When asked during the trailer launch of their film about the comedic actors who inspired her while growing up, Medha Shankr shared, “I can tell you which comedic actor’s comic timing and performance I really enjoyed all these years, and it is Akshay Kumar sir. Mujhe samajh nahi aata woh character kar rahe hai ya real mein aise hai ya kya hai, he’s so effortless. Mujhe lagta hai baaki actors jab karte hai toh unka hint aajata hai. But he’s so good and so iconic. “

The 12th Fail actress continued, “And I also feel, not that Kareena Kapoor is known for comedic roles, but she’s damn good when it comes to comedy. And I do think these people are funny in real life, too. Maybe that’s how they transition on-screen so effortlessly.”

Avinash Tiwary Reveals His All-Time Favourite Comedy Legends

Talking about who he gets inspired from, Avinash said, “For me, it is Govinda. I think from the 90s the only actor that I’ve gone and watched films in cinema, lad-lad ke, mummy papa se paise leke woh hai Govinda ji. For me, he’s someone that I’ve really liked. Mujhe aisa koi actor nahi lagta. Mujhe lagta hai woh agar poori duniya ke saamne khade hojayenge fir bhi nazar kahi jayegi nahi. That is Govinda.”

Further appreciating his co-actor Gopi Bhalla for his comic timing, he added,” Of course, you meet a lot of people, and I can say on this set for sure, Gopi (Bhalla) dada was here. His sense of humour, his kind of timing, is so different. You can’t even try even if you want to. I tried it once, and I was like mujhe chodh hi dena zindagi mein comedy. So you keep learning from people around. I think there’s Johny Lever sir, also. These are the people who are set in my mind. So, as far as comedy is concerned, in logo ke saamne koi khada nahi ho sakta.”
