Gully Boy Mid Ticket Review

The first half of ‘Gully Boy’ brings alive the magic of Mumbai streets. Murad (Ranveer Singh) is a typical bantai (buddy) who smokes joints and lives in a cramped house. He loves listening to rap music. His girlfriend, Safeena (Alia Bhatt) is an aspiring doctor who loves him enough to beat up any competition black and blue.

Murad’s life changes when he meets MC Sher, an established rapper. Together, they create the song ‘Doori’ and it becomes famous. This is just one of the plotlines of the movie. Vijay Raaz, who plays Murad’s father is the villain of the film (he brings home a second mother for Murad) and is the reason behind all the angst that Murad has. Ranveer turns in a great performance and gets into the skin of the character. There are a lot of great moments in the film which have to be seen to be appreciated. We’re looking forward to the second half with bated breath.
