Directed by Rayka Zehtabchi, ‘Period. End of Sentence’ has been selected in the Documentary Short Subject category. Upon learning that her film has made it to the list, Monga took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and expressed her happiness.

An elated Monga told Mumbai Mirror that she (along with her team) is extremely grateful and looking forward to attending the award functions. Interestingly, Monga also revealed that as she is also an Academy member she will get to vote but not in the short film category.

‘Period. End of Sentence’ was made as a part of the Pad Project started by the students of Oakwood Schools in Los Angeles. Talking about how she came on board as the film’s producer, Monga told the tabloid, “Stacey Sher who has produced Quentin Tarantino’s films reached out to me saying her daughter and her friends were trying to make the movie in India and if I could help. I met them and came on board to produce it from India.”

The film showcases how the women in Hapur Village outside Delhi are fighting the stigma related to menstruation.

Guneet Monga is planning to take a few girls featuring in the documentary along with her for the red carpet event of the Oscars.

We wish Guneet and her team all the very best.
