The official trailer for Homebound is now out! Featuring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, the film is set to hit theatres on September 26, 2025. Having travelled through major film festivals before its theatrical debut, Homebound is now ready to captivate audiences on the big screen. Less than 10 days ahead of its release, the makers have unveiled the official trailer, promising a compelling story of friendship, dreams, and aspirations with its star-studded cast.

Dharma Productions shared the trailer on their YouTube channel, captioning it: “Presenting a piece of our heart, hoping it finds a home in yours. Homebound – Official trailer out now. In cinemas 26th September.”

The trailer introduces Ishaan and Vishal as two childhood best friends with dreams of becoming police officers. As they work diligently toward their goals, they encounter numerous challenges along the way. Ishaan portrays Mohammad Shoaib, while Vishal plays Chandan Kumar. Janhvi Kapoor appears as Vishal’s love interest.

Homebound At TIFF

Recently, Homebound was screened at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where it received a standing ovation. The film was also the second runner-up in the 2025 International People’s Choice Award category at the festival.

Homebound is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. It stars Janhvi, Ishaan, and Vishal in lead roles. It will be shown in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. The film is gaining international attention, especially because legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese is the executive producer. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. The co-producers are Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier. Neeraj’s last Cannes film, Masaan, was also shown in the same section back in 2015.
