Irrfan Khan clears the air on rumours of him walking out of ‘Gustakhiyan’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much talked about production venture ‘Gustakhiyan’ was recently back in the headlines, because of the casting of this film. Many would be aware that this project is based on the love story between literary stalwarts Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam. There were reports making rounds that actress Priyanka Chopra is in talks for the part of female lead and could be co-producing the project as well. And apart from her, actor Irrfan Khan was approached to play the coveted role of Sahir Ludhianvi in the film. But recently, we heard that Irrfan has walked out of the project!

Today, putting an end to all these baseless rumours about walking out from ‘Gustakhiyan’, Irrfan Khan has come out with his clarification. He has quoted to a leading tabloid, saying, “I’m not sure where these rumours are coming from. I was approached for the film almost two years ago but there has been no conversation on the dates since. Further, he added, “It’s a mystery even I’d like to solve and find these well-wishers who are speaking on my behalf without my knowledge.” [sic]

Apart from Irrfan, there were even rumours floating around with the names of actors like Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan on casting for this role. But, still nothing has been confirmed as yet.
