Actress Isha Talwar recently opened up about an uncomfortable audition experience that’s now getting a lot of attention online. Her story sheds light on the pressure many newcomers face in the film industry.

Isha Talwar On Her Casting Experience With Shanoo Sharma

Isha shared an incident from her early acting days. She revealed that a well-known casting director, Shanoo Sharma, once asked her to audition inside a busy restaurant. The audition wasn’t in a studio or private space; it was at Mia Cucina in Versova, Mumbai, with customers around. She was expected to perform a crying scene right there, in public.

Isha explained that the team told her she needed to show no inhibitions and prove she could cry on command, even in a noisy restaurant. But the experience left her confused and uncomfortable. “It shattered my confidence as a young girl in films,” she said.

She questioned why a serious audition wasn’t held in a proper space and felt that the situation could have been handled more professionally. In the end, she refused to go through with it. “I remember saying I can’t do it,” Isha shared. “Of course, I didn’t get the role, but I stood my ground.”

Her message to other young actors is clear, “Feel no pressure.” She wants people to know it’s okay to say no when something doesn’t feel right. As of now, there’s been no response from Shanoo Sharma or Yash Raj Films.

Shanoo, who has helped launch stars like Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, is currently being praised for introducing new faces in the upcoming film Saiyaara. But Isha’s story is reminding people that not all auditions are respectful or fair.
