Remix or remake trend has been going on in the music industry for many years now and many music labels are recreating or following the route of the remix of the old songs. Some are loved while some have faced a lot of flak for the manner the old classics are recreated.

Kumar Sanu’s son Jaan Kumar Sanu doesn’t have an objection in recreating old songs but he feels that the original feel of the song should be there. He said, “My take on the remake culture is very very amazing. I think it gets news masses connected to the classic songs of Bollywood in a very new way. So, basically this is a good way to be connected with the root. It’s amazing because people can stay connected with the classic era of Bollywood though remakes. The current generation doesn’t really listen to the old 90’s songs. Remixes bring the old songs in a new manner.”

He further said, “I feel that if you want to remake a song, the most important thing is to keep the feel of the original song alive. Like if you have a romantic number, you shouldn’t make it into a dance number. Something like a romantic soft song being made into a clubby dance number, that’s not a good idea for anybody.”

“But there have been amazing remakes that have happened and there a few that have gone a bit wrong. While remaking, you can sing a song in any kind of pattern or style that you want, but I don’t think you should change the feel of the song otherwise the main emotion of the song is gone,” he added.
