Is John Abraham’s upcoming film ‘Khan Officer’ based on a novel?

After playing the character of a fierce police officer in Milap Zaveri’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’, John Abraham will once again play the role of a cop in his upcoming film ‘Khan Officer’. The last film of John performed well at the box office window.

According to reports, the film ‘Khan Officer’ is based on a novel titled, ‘Moryaa Re: The Ganpati Murders’. There are also reports claiming that film is not based on any novel.

A source revealed to DNA, “The movie is about a common man who becomes a police officer and not a book adaptation. In fact, it’s based on a real-life personality, an Indian-American cop.”

Though John has officially bought the rights to the book which is based on a serial killer, ‘Officer Khan’ might be a story of an ordinary policeman. The ‘Satyamev Jayate’ star will begin shooting for the movie this year.

Apart from ‘Khan Officer’, John will also be seen in the highly anticipated film, ‘Batla House’ which is based on the infamous ‘Batla House’ encounter in the year 2008. The actor had shared the first look of the film on his Twitter handle as well.

“’Batla House’ will be the most explosive film you’ve seen. It’ll show how polarised the world is and it’s straight in its face. If we accept ‘Batla House’, it’ll be the most successful film,” he had said.

Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the film stars Abraham as the cop who led the ‘Batla House’ encounters. The encounter took place in September 2008 against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Batla House, a locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi.

The film ‘Batla House’ is slated to release on August 15, 2019.
