Bollywood actor and Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut, known for voicing her opinions and standing firmly by her beliefs, once again stirred conversation during a rapid-fire segment at the News18 Summit. While discussing Bollywood personalities and industry dynamics, she praised Salman Khan, openly criticised several prominent directors, and took pointed jabs at the industry’s power circles, continuing her long-running feud with the establishment. Read on to know what she said.
Kangana Ranaut Calls Salman Khan ‘Quite Cool’; Takes A Jibe At Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap
In the rapid fire round, when asked to choose her pick between Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan in terms of friendship, Kangana first quipped, “Ye mere dost kab se bann gaye?”, before adding with a laugh, Further, on being prodded, who does she like the most? She said, “I think Salman is quite cool.”
Next in the rapid fire round, the question was about which director she respected most between Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra. Rather than singling any of them out, Kangana joked about her creative preferences and took a swipe at the list itself. She said, “Meri jo filmmaking aur acting ke liye jo liking hai, mere standards itne low nahi jitne aapke hai. Kam se kam list toh achi banani thi.”
Kangana’s remarks reflect her long-standing criticism of parts of Bollywood’s power structure, especially her ongoing verbal sparring with Karan Johar that dates back to her appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2017 when she labelled him the “flag-bearer of nepotism” and part of the “movie mafia.”
Kangana Ranaut Picks Her Favourite Bollywood Actress
She also drew laughter when asked to pick the better actress between Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan. Kangana laughed and chose Ananya Panday, a choice that resonated with her earlier dig on The Kapil Sharma Show, where she joked about Panday’s tongue-to-nose gesture, a moment that had previously become a talking point online.
Her appearance at the summit, which blended humour with pointed industry critique, reinforced Kangana’s reputation as one of Bollywood’s most unapologetically candid voices.
