Recently, Kangana Ranaut dismissed Urmila Matondkar’s huge contribution to Bollywood by calling her a ‘soft porn star’. This statement by the ‘Panga’ actress didn’t go down well with several Bollywood celebs. Also, she received flak on social media for using such words for a female star being herself of the same gender.

Kangana has later defended her ‘soft porn star’ remark on Urmila by tweeting, “Liberal brigade once virtually lynched a renowned writer in to silence for saying people like Sunny Leone should not be our role models, Sunny is accepted by the industry and entire India as an artist, suddenly fake feminists equating being a porn star to something derogatory.”

Reacting to Kangana’s remark, in an interview to journalist Barkha Dutt, Urmila said, “In all my interviews, I have complimented her on the actor she has been, a wonderful actor, a woman who has come from a small town. I have only complimented her and acknowledged all her achievements.”

She continued, “It just goes to show where we stand, and that is precisely what I have been trying to say, that if you have a viewpoint, by all means you have a right to express it. But it just that the way you express it and how you express it does matter.”
