These days social media is flooded with posts where public specially the people of Mumbai are opposing the deforestation in Aarey Milk Colony. It was after the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) approved of chopping down trees to make space for car shed of metro trains. This move by the BMC has been opposed by many including the Bollywood celebrities like Dia Mirza, Vishal Dadlani, Shraddha Kapoor, and Disha Patani among others.

Now, Kangana Ranaut has also opened up on it. Yesterday, she attended the event of Cauvery Calling campaign that aims at creating awareness about the environment. At the event when Kangana was asked on Aarey deforestation, she said that it shouldn’t be allowed. “A building cannot be demolished or renovated overnight, leaving the residents on road, similarly we cannot cut down the trees like this. Why can’t we make arrangements with trees and animals?” said the actress.

She further suggested that there should be a proper arrangement of planting trees in Aarey Milk colony and the authorities can plant saplings to make sure everything is properly planned.

“We can wait for the metro but can’t cut the trees like this and make the city concrete jungle,” added Kangana.

Kangana has donated Rs 42 lakh to plant one lakh saplings on the Cauvery Basin.
