For those unfamiliar, the late Mr. Yash Chopra’s films had one specialty. The iconic Bollywood director’s beautiful heroines had to have a romantic dance number in lush green fields or the heavenly Swiss Alps in see-through, dreamy sarees. Our minds are still flooded with images of  a saree-clad Rekha, Sridevi and Madhuri trying to woo their lovers in their sensual avatars. So, where are we going with this? Well, just take a look at Kangana Ranaut’s recent desi look and you’ll get a whiff of Yash Raj films’ nostalgia. Kangana recently attended an event to unveil writer Shobhaa De’s book and gave us a stunning saree look that is going to take some time to sink in for us. It’s strange how Ms Ranaut keeps giving us fierce, bold looks and then suddenly turns all dreamy and subtle for a public appearance. This see-through, pastel pink chiffon saree that she wore had big, painted floral motifs in darker hues. Celebrity stylist Ami Patel accessorised the number with an exquisite necklace with encrusted light emeralds and pearls from Dia Precious, which adds to the charming vibes. She rounded off the look with minimal Louboutins heels and ditched earrings or bangles altogether, which totally worked.

Kangana’s glowing beauty look included soft plum eyes and nude glossy lips that really complemented her outfit. Hairstylist Divya Naik opted for this royal tucked-in, low bun that added a playful element to the ensemble. And look at the long pallu sweeping the floor! It’s giving us major Bollywoody feels and reminds us how much we miss that Yash Chopra effect. Nevertheless, for now, we love that saree look on you, Kangana!
