‘Baby Doll’ singer Kanika Kapoor has tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The singer is currently admitted in King George’s Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow. Kanika took to her Instagram handle to confirm that she has tested positive.

Now there are several reports doing the round that states, Kanika upon her return from London refrained from informing the authorities about her travel history. She went on to host a party for her friends and family. The singer was massively trolled by netizens for not practising self-isolation and putting so many lives in danger.

As per a report by IANS, the 41-year-old singer returned from the UK and arrived in Lucknow on March 15. She went on to throw a lavish party upon her return. Reportedly this party was attended by a large number of bureaucrats, politicians and socialites.

Kanika confirmed the news of testing positive by sharing the following post on her Instagram handle:

And soon she was slammed by the netizens for not practising self-isolation. One of the users commented, “Why the fuck did you not self-isolate upon return from UK? And you frigging attended a party. You risked not only your life but that of so many others in the society. Shame on you Kanika (sic)”

Medical officials are in a dilemma as to how to quarantine the entire building where the singer stayed after arriving in Lucknow from UK.

Kanika’s father Rajiv Kapoor talking to Aaj Tak denied reports of her dodging authorities at the airport. However, he confirmed that she attended three parties after arriving from London.

The singer’s family is now undergoing tests for Covid-19. A doctor from KGMU hospital told the news agency, “Some people have started approaching us for tests but we still do not know how to make the VIPs undergo tests.”
