Bollywood’s ace filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Ranveer Singh collaborated for the first time for a film. However, the collaboration was not as actor-director but as producer-actor. Notably, Ranveer’s last release ‘Simmba’ was co-produced by Karan Johar. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film also starred Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. The film proved to be a blockbuster and collected more than Rs 200 crores at the box office.

In an interview with India Today, Karan Johar praised Ranveer Singh. The ace filmmaker asserted that he loves Ranveer who is also his go-to person for everything. Karan said, “He is very flamboyant and that’s something that he shows to the public. He is always this person, he is originally very flamboyant. He is my hero. Ranveer’s energy enhances his stardom. Other actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan don’t have that much energy but they are unique in their own way. They are amazing actors and are really good on screen.”

It is to be noted that Karan Johar will soon work with Ranveer Singh in his next directorial titled ‘Takht’. The film which is a period drama also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in May this year.

Currently, actor Ranveer Singh is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film ‘Gully Boy’. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film also stars Alia Bhatt. ‘Gully Boy’ will hit the screens on February 14.
